Netanyahu: Confirmed trip to Washington – Will meet with Trump, what’s on his agenda

The Israeli Prime Minister will also meet with Vance, Rubio and Whitcoff - Focus on relations with Syria, Saudi Arabia and the ceasefire in Gaza - A new US-Israel trade agreement will also be on the table

Newsroom July 1 03:46

Traveling to Washington next week, Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed his trip to Washington next week for meetings with US President Donald Trump and senior US government officials.

Speaking at the start of the cabinet meeting, Netanyahu said he would also meet with Vice President J.D. Vance, Foreign Minister Marco Rubio, Defense Minister Pete Hegseth, U.S. Special Envoy Steve Whitcoff, and Trade Minister Howard Lutnik.

He will also meet with senior members of parliament, Netanyahu added. The prime minister is reportedly expected to travel to the US on Saturday night and meet with Trump at the White House on Monday.

“These events come on the heels of the great victory we achieved in Operation Rising Lion” against Iran, Netanyahu told his ministers.“Building on the success is no less important than achieving it.”

Following Israel’s 12-day operation against Iran’s nuclear and ballistic programs, there has been renewed emphasis on the possibility of a deal with Syria, as well as reports of a broad agreement that would end the war in Gaza and normalize Israel’s relations with Saudi Arabia.
