Commission acknowledges motion of censure: ‘Well within MEPs’ rights’

Von der Leyen will participate in the debate on the motion of censure, which will take place on Monday in the plenary session of the European Parliament

“These are initiatives that fall within the right of the members of the European Parliament”, was the comment of  Paula Pinho, the Commission’s press spokeswoman, in response to questions from journalists about the proposal of censure against the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.

Commission spokeswoman  Paula Pinho limited herself to brief statements, noting that Ms. von der Leyen will participate in the debate on the censure motion, which will take place on Monday in the European Parliament’s plenary session in Strasbourg.

Asked about the presence of the College of Commissioners in the proceedings, she replied that “the College of Commissioners will be in Strasbourg, as is its custom, to attend the plenary session, to the extent that there are items on the agenda that concern its participation.”
