The roof of a famous restaurant, which has even been awarded a Michelin star, collapsed last night in the Italian town of Terracina (Tarracino), killing one woman and injuring 10 others.
According to Rai News, the tragic incident occurred at the Essenza restaurant, at a time when its dining room was quite full, although many customers were sitting outside. Witnesses speak of two separate collapses. Although the cause of the crash remains unknown, some local media outlets are suggesting that strong winds may have played a role.
Mara Severino, 31, a sommelier at the restaurant, was trapped under the debris. Although firefighters were able to extricate her, she succumbed to her injuries a short time later. Three of the ten injured are being treated in critical condition.
