Irini Mourtzoukou: Today her deposition before the Achaia investigator – Her lawyer promises revelations

Her transfer from Athens Police Headquarters (GADA) to Patras has begun – The confessed child killer has handed handwritten notes to her lawyer – The Achaia Courthouse under tight security

Newsroom July 13 09:05

The time has come for Irini Mourtzoukou to testify. She has just left the General Police Directorate of Attica and is currently being transferred by police vehicles to the Achaia Courthouse, where she will appear before the Investigating Magistrate.

Her transfer is taking place under extremely tight security measures, and the 25-year-old, upon entering the magistrate’s office, will be called to answer for the deaths of four infants—two of them her own—as well as an attempted homicide against an adult woman.

The confessed killer had remained for a fifth day on the 11th floor of GADA, in a specially secured area of the Homicide Department. She is reportedly calm and composed, and yesterday she received a visit from her defense attorney, with whom she discussed her legal strategy for hours.

The Handwritten Notes

During that meeting, they reportedly wrote out her deposition word for word, while Mourtzoukou is also said to have handed handwritten notes to her lawyer, Mr. Alexandris, regarding the deaths of the children.

These notes may form the basis of today’s testimony, in which she is expected to possibly implicate other individuals in the murders.

The Death of Little Panagiotakis

Apart from her expected statements on the deaths of the four children, particular attention is focused on what she will say about the death of little Panagiotakis.

This is the most recent death linked to Mourtzoukou, and one about which she has so far refused to provide any information.

The only detail she has shared with police is that, prior to the death of the six-month-old infant in August 2024, she had a heated argument with the child’s mother—who is also her close friend and godmother.

Further clarity on this case is expected to come from the forensic team’s report investigating Panagiotis’s death, which is due later this week.
