Lebanon: The army destroys a large factory producing illegal stimulant pills Captagon

The army closed a 300-meter-long tunnel used to enter and exit the factory, and to store the cargo

Newsroom July 14 10:06

The Lebanese military announced today that it has discovered and destroyed one of the largest factories for the production of Captagon in the country, near the Syrian border.

In a statement, the Lebanese military clarified that it raided “a large pill manufacturing factory“, in the eastern valley of Bekaa, bordering Syria.

“This is one of the largest factories seized“, the statement underlined, adding that the soldiers destroyed machinery and seized large quantities of captagon, a drug derived from a drug used to treat narcolepsy or attention deficit disorder.

The military closed a 300-meter-long tunnel used to enter and exit the plant and to store the cargo, according to the statement.

In June, Damascus said all captagon production facilities in Syria were seized.

The new authorities blamed Hezbollah that he also engages in the trafficking of captagon along the border between the two countries, which is heavily porous.
