The results of the State Certificate of Attainment in Languages period 2025A, for levels A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2, in five foreign languages: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, held on 10 and 11 May 2025, were announced today by the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sport.
The number of applications submitted, this year, was increased by 11% compared to 2024 which demonstrates the confidence society is gaining, the institution of the State Certificate of Language Proficiency.
The number of successful candidates from the May 2025 examination is particularly high, reaching 9,148 out of the 9,902 who applied to participate.
In more detail, for the language certification the successful candidates:
English language is 656 (A1+A2:158, B1+B2:319, C1+C2:179 )
French is 2,183 (A1+A2: 661, B1+B2:1,203 , C1+C2:319 )
German language is 2.637 (A1+A2: 880, B1+B2: 1.635, C1+C2:122 )
Italian language is 1.608 (A1+A2: 203, B1+B2:1.001, C1+C2: 404)
Spanish language is 2.064 (A1+A2: 248, B1+B2: 1.505, C1+C2: 311)
It is worth noting that the examination of Turkish language, which will be held during the second phase of the competition next November, will be held exclusively at the highest educational level of language proficiency for candidates, namely at C1 + C2 levels.
The Minister of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports, Sofia Zacharaki, said: “I would like to warmly congratulate the successful candidates of the State Certificate of Attainment in Languages examinations of the 2025A examination period, as well as to thank all candidates for their participation and effort. Multilingualism is a valuable asset for modern education and the demanding challenges of the labour market.”
He continued: “The State Certificate of Attainment in Languages, a reliable and completely transparent institution is here to stay, and every year we want to strengthen even more the efforts of citizens of all ages to acquire recognized language qualifications equivalent to corresponding international certificates. The Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports, with consistency and continuous upgrading of examination procedures, supports equal access to knowledge and lifelong learning for all, and as was evident from this year’s participation, which was higher by 965 candidates compared to last year, this effort is recognised. I wish all the candidates good luck in their educational and professional careers, and we pledge to continue to support language education with all the modern and qualitative means at our disposal.”
The briefing of the successful candidates and receipt of the certificates
Interested candidates can be informed about the results of the examination through the official website: https://kpgresults.it.minedu.gov.gr
On the above website, candidates can access their results by using the candidate code indicated on the candidate card and the four initial characters of their personal details (Surname, First Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name).
The successful candidates, or their guardians in case of minors, after the issuance of the State Certificate of Attainment in Language, will be able to collect their certificate from the Secondary Education Directorates, which finalized their application to participate in the CPE examinations, having with them the candidate card or the identity card. If a certificate is received from a third person, an authorization certified for authenticity of signature and identification card is required.
Until the issuance and awarding of the State Certificate of Attainment in Language, it is possible that the successful candidates, upon their request, may be granted by the Directorates of Secondary Education, which have finalized their application for participation in the KCG examinations, relevant certificates of success that will be valid until the issuance of the certificates.
