From today, Monday 21 July 2025, the new per passenger cruise fee at Greek ports will officially come into force, under the new institutional framework established by the Ministry of Shipping and Island Policy. The fee is imposed on all cruise companies operating in Greece and is aimed at financing infrastructure projects, managing tourism pressure, as well as enhancing sustainability on the islands.

The amount varies depending on the duration of the ship’s stay, the type of port (home port or transit) and the total tourist burden of each destination.

According to the decision, the fee varies depending on the season and the destination port:

-From June 1 to September 30, passengers disembarking in Mykonos and Santorini will pay 20 euros per person, while in other ports they will pay 5 euros.
-During the period 1 October – 31 October and 1 April – 31 May, the fee is 12 euros for Mykonos and Santorini and 3 euros for the other ports.
-During the winter months, from 1 November to 31 March, it is reduced to 4 euros and 1 euro respectively.
-The amount is borne by the passenger without VAT, while the cruise companies, shipping agents, Greek management companies, and their legal representatives, who are jointly and severally liable, are responsible for payment.
