A particularly useful tool is the digital evaluation of hospitals, not only for citizens who have the “space” to present their experience in the National Health System (NHS) and have their voices heard, but also for the evaluation of administrators by the leadership of the Ministry of Health. From 14 July, all patients discharged from a public hospital will receive a link on their mobile phone and answer 35 questions related to their hospitalisation.
According to information from ygeiamou.gr, so far 1/3 of the citizens who have received a message for evaluation (30%) have answered the questionnaire. The fact that many hospitalized patients are elderly and may not be familiar with digital media certainly has a role in the final number of questionnaires answered.
At the same time, however, the whole initiative is in its infancy and a large proportion of citizens are unaware of the new facility. It is estimated by the Ministry of Health that as the new “tool” becomes known to citizens, the responses will increase, offering valuable information to the Ministry of Health, as well as to the administrations of the nursing institutions.
