Police officers went to his home following a prosecutor’s order for involuntary commitment, and he reacted with shouting and threats – Navarinou and Kilkis streets in the area are closed

An emergency situation is unfolding in Cholargos, as a man has barricaded himself inside his apartment and is threatening police officers.

Shortly after noon, police evacuated the apartment building where the man resides, and traffic has been halted on Navarinou and Kilkis streets.

When the officers arrived to detain him, the man began shouting and threatening them. He even threw a Molotov cocktail from his balcony at the police and also threatened them with a crossbow.

A police negotiator is on the way to the scene.
