The street of Faiakon is closed to vehicle traffic from the point of Ipeirou Street, in the area of Palaio Faliro, due to the discovery of a military shell.

A unit from the Hellenic Army’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team has already rushed to the scene to deactivate and transport the shell.

A local resident walking in the area discovered the old shell in a stream, which, according to initial estimates, dates back to World War II.

The police have cordoned off the area for safety reasons until the necessary actions by military personnel are completed.
