The victims are tourists from Serbia – Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident

A gas cylinder explosion occurred on Thursday afternoon (August 7) in rental rooms in Asprovalta, Thessaloniki, injuring five tourists, one of them seriously.

According to initial reports, the accident happened under unclear circumstances at around 3:00 p.m. Ambulances from the National Emergency Center (EKAV) rushed to the scene and transported the five injured individuals to the Madyto Health Center. Among them was a 41-year-old man suffering from severe burns.

All five injured individuals are Serbian nationals. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
