A 41-year-old fugitive from Larissa Prison was arrested in Athens on August 7 by officers from the Searches Department of the Attica Directorate for Crime Investigation and Resolution.
According to the Hellenic Police (ELAS), the man escaped on November 17, 2022, from Larissa Hospital, where he had been transferred from prison for medical treatment.
He had been serving a prison sentence of 21 years and 11 months for forming a criminal gang, multiple counts of armed robbery, co-perpetration, and multiple aggravated thefts in continuation and in co-perpetration. Additionally, a warrant was pending for his arrest to serve the remainder of his sentence for attempted theft.
The detainee was brought before the competent prosecutor.
