Clear skies with northerly winds 3–5 Beaufort in Attica

With temperatures not exceeding 34°C and winds at 3–4 Beaufort, locally up to 6, the week begins this Sunday.

In the coming days, according to the EMY, temperatures will not change significantly, although towards the end of the week they will start to rise.

In Athens today, Sunday, the weather will be clear with temperatures ranging from 22°C to 32°C. Similar conditions in Thessaloniki, with temperatures from 21°C to 32°C.

FORECAST FOR SUNDAY 17-08

GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS

  • In Epirus, western and central Macedonia, and Thessaly: few clouds, temporarily increased at midday and afternoon, with local showers and isolated thunderstorms.
  • In Thrace: occasional increased clouds with local showers until the afternoon.
  • In the rest of the country: generally clear skies, with temporary clouds at midday–afternoon in mainland areas, where local showers may occur in the mountains.
  • Winds: in the west, west/northwest 3–4 Beaufort; in the east, north/northwest 4–6 Beaufort, gradually weakening from the afternoon.
  • Temperature: no significant change. Reaching 33–34°C in the Ionian and mainland, and 29–31°C in the rest of the islands.

MACEDONIA, THRACE

  • Weather: Eastern Macedonia & Thrace – few clouds, occasionally increased, with local showers in Thrace until the afternoon. Elsewhere – few clouds, temporarily increased midday–afternoon, with local showers and isolated thunderstorms.
  • Winds: west – variable 3–4 Beaufort; east – northeast 4–5 Beaufort, gradually weakening from midday.
  • Temperature: 20–34°C; in western Macedonia 17–30°C.

IONIAN ISLANDS, EPIRUS, WESTERN CENTRAL GREECE, WESTERN PELOPONNESE

  • Weather: Epirus – few clouds, temporarily increased midday–afternoon, with local showers and isolated thunderstorms. Elsewhere – generally clear, with temporary clouds in the mountains midday–afternoon, where local showers will occur.
  • Winds: variable 3–4 Beaufort, shifting west/northwest from midday with the same intensity.
  • Temperature: 22–33/34°C.

THESSALY, EASTERN CENTRAL GREECE, EVIA, EASTERN PELOPONNESE

  • Weather: Thessaly – few clouds, temporarily increased midday–afternoon, with local showers and isolated thunderstorms mainly in mountains. Elsewhere – generally clear, with temporary clouds in mainland areas midday–afternoon, where local showers may occur in mountains.
  • Winds: northerly 4–5 Beaufort, locally up to 6 near Evia in the morning; shifting variable 3–4 Beaufort from afternoon.
  • Temperature: 19–32/33, locally 34°C; Sporades up to 29°C.

CYCLADES, CRETE

  • Weather: generally clear.
  • Winds: west/northwest 4–6 Beaufort, gradually weakening from the afternoon.
  • Temperature: 22–28/29°C, locally 30–31°C in Crete.

EASTERN AEGEAN ISLANDS, DODECANESE

  • Weather: generally clear. Some clouds until midday in the northern parts.
  • Winds: North Aegean – northerly 4–6 Beaufort, weakening from the afternoon; Dodecanese – west/northwest 4–6 Beaufort.
  • Temperature: 23–30/31°C.

ATTICA

  • Weather: generally clear.
  • Winds: northerly 3–5 Beaufort, locally up to 6 in the east in the morning; weak and variable in the evening.
  • Temperature: 22–32°C.

THESSALONIKI

  • Weather: a few passing clouds until afternoon.
  • Winds: variable 2–3 Beaufort.
  • Temperature: 21–32°C.

FORECAST FOR MONDAY 18-08
Generally clear across the country with temporary clouds in the west and north during the morning. From midday in the Ionian and mainland, clouds will develop with local showers and thunderstorms. Phenomena will cease by evening.
