From summer to autumn in just one afternoon in Skopia, Farsala, as temperatures dropped sharply and heavy rain fell.
The rain, which fell at an intense rate of 412 millimeters per hour, caused a simultaneous sharp drop in temperature. It was brief, with just over 30 millimeters of precipitation recorded.
According to the National Observatory, the mercury “plummeted” from 31.3°C—the day’s maximum recorded at 13:40—to 17.8°C at 15:30. The data also showed an increase in wind speed. According to ifarsala.gr, this sudden 13.5°C change coincided with the peak of the rainfall.
