Greek intelligence services (EYP) have been closely monitoring the activities of the Turkish crime syndicate Gun Maslum for months. The group operates in drug trafficking networks linking Turkey, Greece, and Spain. Since December, authorities have mapped at least 40 members connected to the gang, including six Turks arrested in Attica this Wednesday.

Among them was the alleged leader, a 29-year-old from Istanbul known as “Reiz.” He is wanted in Turkey for murder, drug trafficking, and arms smuggling. Despite this, he managed to settle in Greece with his wife, who had previously been arrested in Turkey for resisting authority and defamation. The couple reportedly lived a luxurious lifestyle without visible sources of income.

Ties to Major Turkish Crime Lords

Investigators link Reiz to Dündar Kılıç, a notorious Turkish mafia boss. He also maintains connections with Turkish criminal networks in Spain that control cocaine and heroin routes.

The gang’s operations in Greece relied on a courier company that imported luxury supercars from Bulgaria. At the same time, large amounts of cash were moved in bags through a money transfer company, masking the syndicate’s financial flows between Greece and abroad.

The Role of the “Chef” and Heroin Processing

Reiz’s father is infamous in Turkey under the nickname “The Chef,” due to his expertise in heroin processing. His skills reportedly played a crucial role in the family’s involvement in narcotics.

Luxury Hideout in Oropos

Photos published by Proto Thema reveal that the gang members lived in a villa in Oropos, complete with a swimming pool and barbecue. The location provided full isolation. For their movements, they used expensive cars and supercars.

Police also discovered notebooks during raids, containing detailed amounts of money and client names believed to be tied to the network.

Greek Authorities on Alert

Police sources stress that although key members of this Turkish mafia cell have been arrested, other criminals may try to establish new networks in Greece to continue their illegal activities.
