Tragedy at a hotel in Mykonos: 25-year-old found dead in private pool

Two young Brazilians were discovered unconscious in a pool – one was taken to the Health Center, the other died

Newsroom August 24 02:25

A serious incident occurred at a hotel in Ornos, Mykonos, when two young foreign nationals were found unconscious inside a private room pool. One of them was pulled out alive, while the other was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead.

A cleaning staff member noticed water running onto the balcony of a third-floor room, coming from the pool of the room directly above. She immediately alerted the reception and, accompanied by two other employees, entered the room to see what had happened.

According to eyewitness accounts, the three employees found the two occupants of the room, Brazilian nationals, inside the private pool having lost consciousness. One of the staff members managed to pull out first the 23-year-old, who still showed signs of responsiveness, and then the second, a 25-year-old, who was unconscious.

An ambulance unit (EKAB) rushed to the scene and transported the 23-year-old to the Mykonos Health Center. For the 25-year-old, paramedics confirmed his death.
