With 56.6% of citizens considering the most serious problem for the country, 53% of citizens say in the Opinion Poll for Action24 that they are more or less satisfied with the Prime Minister’s announcements at the TIF, while about 7 out of 10 consider (more or less) the individual measures announced by Kyriakos Mitsotakis last Saturday at the Velideio to be important.

More than 2.5 points from the European elections

In the vote estimate, ND is recorded at 30.5%, returning to the levels of May and January 2025, i.e. 2.5 points above the result of the European elections , with PASOK following with 14% (with a marginal increase of 0.1 pointin relation to the company’s July survey) , with Eleftherias with 11,7%, Hellenic Solution with 11.5%, KKE 7.4%, Voice of Logic 4.3%, SYRIZA 4.2%, MERA25 3.4%, Democracy Movement 2.7%, Niki 2.4%, New Left 1.6% and Spartans 1.3%. Interestingly, in the voting intention, one in four voters place themselves in the “grey zone”.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis is considered by citizens to be the most suitable candidate for prime minister, with 27.9% of the vote, followed by Nikos Androulakis with 7.2%, Zoe Konstantopoulou with 7.1% and Kyriakos Velopoulos with 6.9%. None, 31.8% answered none.

37.2% of respondents believe the announcements show that the government is trying, within the limits of the Greek economy’s potential, to improve the finances of the average household, with 33.3 saying they will personally see a small or significant improvement in their finances due to the new measures.

More specifically, 9.6% said they were very satisfied, 18.8% quite satisfied, 24.6 somewhat satisfied and 44.5% not at all satisfied with the Prime Minister’s announcements. If the question is asked about each measure separately and whether it is considered important by citizens, the answers are as follows:

High approval ratings for the TIF measures

-69.6 consider the measure of VAT reduction on the outlying islands with a population of up to 20,000 inhabitants to be somewhat to very important (20.9% very important, 25.7% quite important and 23% somewhat important),
-65.1% consider the measure of zero tax for young people up to 25 years old and taxing at 9% instead of 22% for young people aged 25-30 years old important (21.4% very, 21.1% quite and 22.6% a little),
-66.4% important measure to halve the ENFIA in villages up to 1,500 inhabitants in 2026 and zero in 2027 (21.6% very, 20.8% quite and 24% a little),
-69.5% important the measure to reduce tax rates by 2% with a further reduction per child in the family (19.3% very, 20.7% quite and 29.5% a little), and
-64.7% important the measure to halve the personal differential for retirees for 2026 and repeal in 2027 (15.3% very, 24.3% quite and 25.1% somewhat).

In addition to accuracy, the economy/growth is seen as a problem at 30%, the situation in the NHS 14.1%, the administration of justice and the rule of law 12.8%, prices and energy costs 11.6%, corruption 11.2%, and the level of income 9.5%, national and Greek-Turkish issues 9.3%, demography 8.8%, while the problems of education (8.3%), the housing crisis (7.5%), immigration (7.3%), crime and violence (6.9%) and unemployment (6.6%) are low on the list of problems.

52.3% of the sample say they are more or less satisfied with the overall performance of the government throughout its term to date and 47% not at all. 36% are satisfied with PASOK’s opposition policy and 61.6% not at all.

About the “Tsipras party”

In the same survey, 63.5% of citizens have a negative or rather negative view of Alexis Tsipras’ initiative to found a new party. In fact, 44.3% of left-wing voters and 41.3% of centre-left voters have the same opinion. The same percentage says it would never vote for it, with only 6.5% saying they would definitely vote for it.
Almost 7 in 10 believe that Alexis Tsipras cannot defeat Kyriakos Mitsotakis in the next election.
