The Israeli government warned on Wednesday that if the European Union imposes sanctions against Israel, they will receive the “appropriate response.”
“The recommendations of the European Commission are morally and politically distorted, and we must hope they will not be approved,” Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar said in a post on X.
“Any action against Israel will receive the appropriate response, and we hope it does not come to that,” Sa’ar added, as the measures proposed by the Commission are considered unlikely to be adopted by the 27.
It is recalled that the European Commission proposed higher tariffs on Israeli products entering the EU and the imposition of sanctions on two far-right Israeli ministers.
