Marine pollution detected in Perama by the Coast Guard

It was work debris and marine organisms that leaked into the sea after the sinking of a cargo ship's tank

Newsroom September 18 02:00

At noon on Wednesday, September 17, officials of the Port Authority of Perama discovered the existence of marine pollution, covering an area of about 600-700 sq m. consisting of the remains of external cleaning of a ship in front of a floating tank, within the Shipbuilding and Repair Zone of Perama.

Specifically, it was work debris and marine organisms that leaked into the sea after the tank was sunk for the launching and exit of an F/G vessel. With the care of those responsible for the tank and with the assistance of an anti-pollution company, the residues were cleaned from the sea.
