Today the Senate confirms the nomination of Kimberly Guilfoyle as the new US Ambassador to Athens

After the changes to the rules, there will be a vote for US ambassadors to other countries

Newsroom September 18 01:13

The United States Senate is moving to simultaneously confirm dozens of Trump administration nominations, following an amendment to the rules that allows nominees to be approved in groups rather than on separate votes for each.

On Wednesday, Republicans were able to overcome a key hurdle in the process, and now the final vote is scheduled for Thursday. The 48 nominations expected to be approved include the appointment of Kimberly Guilfoyle as the new U.S. ambassador to Athens, according to U.S. media.

According to the US Senate announcement, along with Guilfoyle, the “package” includes other ambassadors, including Calista Gingrich for Switzerland and Liechtenstein, as well as a number of senior officials in federal agencies.
