Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis had an introductory meeting with the newly appointed U.S. Ambassador to Athens, Kimberly Guilfoyle.
Kimberly Guilfoyle will be sworn in on Monday and is expected to arrive in Athens at the end of October.
The Mitsotakis–Guilfoyle meeting took place on the sidelines of an event in New York, where the Prime Minister spoke about the important role Greece can play as a political, commercial, and energy bridge between India, the Gulf countries, and Europe.
The meeting was organized by the Atlantic Council and Antenna Group, focusing on deepening EU cooperation with the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council, within the framework of the initiative Alliance for Europe and the Middle East (AEGGIS – Alliance for Europe-Gulf Geopolitics & Investments Summit).
