Flights operating normally on Wednesday – Air traffic controllers’ strike declared illegal

Decision issued by the Athens Single-Member Court of First Instance – Sixth consecutive day of delays at “Eleftherios Venizelos” Airport

Newsroom September 30 01:39

The participation of the Hellenic Air Traffic Controllers Association (EEEKE), OSYPA, and ENIMAEK in tomorrow’s 24-hour strike announced by ADEDY was declared illegal following a decision by the Athens Single-Member Court of First Instance.

As a result, flights scheduled for Wednesday, October 1, 2025, will not be affected by the strike action.

Meanwhile, for the sixth straight day, flight delays continue at “Eleftherios Venizelos” Airport, with the issue mainly affecting arrivals and, to a lesser extent, departures.

According to ERT, delays are reaching up to two hours, with no sign yet of a return to normal operations. Passengers are advised to check with their airline for possible changes to their flight schedules before heading to the airport.

Sources say that air traffic controllers are insisting on a limit of “28 safe flights,” instead of 36.
