An explosion occurred tonight at the intersection of Aristotelous Street and Syngrou Avenue, in front of a branch of the Ministry of Rural Development.

According to initial reports, at approximately 10:50 p.m., an unknown individual left an explosive device at the scene made of gas canisters. The explosion caused damage to the entrance of the building.

Police forces and bomb disposal units (TEEM) have arrived on site to investigate the device and collect evidence that could help shed light on the case.

Road closures:
Aristotelous Street is closed to vehicle traffic from the height of Al. Pantou to the service road of Syngrou Avenue.
