A criminal group whose members were committing robberies against kiosk employees in areas of south suburbs was tracked down by authorities.

Specifically, according to the ELAS, they were arrested in the evening and early morning hours of Sunday and Monday (13/10), in the area of Ilioupolis, by officers of the Department of Crime Investigation and Detection of Crimes of Ilioupolis and the Sub-Directorate of Crime Investigation and Detection of Crimes of Southeastern Attica, respectively, two minors, aged 16 years, and a case file was formed against them for robbery, both completed and attempted aggravated and repeated robbery and violation of the weapons legislation.

It is noted that shortly before his arrest, one of the accused had committed 2 robberies at kiosks in the areas of Ilioupolis and Argyroupoli. During his arrest, it was found that he was wearing clothing that he had used in the commission of other robberies, while in his possession was found and seized a pistol and the sum of money of 242 euros that he had just removed.

As it emerged from the preliminary investigation, the defendants had formed and joined a criminal group, at least since September this year, with the aim of committing robberies and consequently obtaining illegal property benefits.

As to their mode of action, the members of the gang, moving with a vehicle, mainly in the evening and early morning hours, after locating the kiosks – their targets, one of them having covered his facial features with the threat of a pistol, immobilized the employees and extracted sums of money from them, while his accomplice spotted the place having the role of a “lookout”.

Characteristic of their criminal action is the fact that in order to maximize their loot they carried out 3 robberies on the same night, while they even robbed the same kiosk a second time within a few days.

The search of their homes resulted in the discovery and seizure of a replica pistol, as well as numerous items of clothing used in the commission of criminal acts.

From the preliminary investigation so far, 7 more cases of robberies have been solved in Ilioupoli, Argyroupoli and Alimos. The arrested with the case against them were led to the competent prosecutor, while against their parents a case was formed for neglect of their supervision.
