A tragedy occurred early Thursday morning on Vasilissis Sofias Avenue, near the US Embassy, when a truck collided with a motorcycle, resulting in the fatal injury of the young rider.

According to local media from Lamia, the victim was originally from the region of Fthiotida and served as a non-commissioned officer (mechanic) in a unit of the Hellenic Air Force in Athens.

After the crash, he was taken to a hospital with serious injuries; however, despite doctors’ efforts, he could not be kept alive.
