Newsroom October 16 04:10

Minister of Rural Development Kostas Tsiaras categorically denies reports of his resignation over delays in the payment of agricultural subsidies that have caused discontent among farmers.

“I have never lost courage in the face of the major reforms our country needs, and of course, I have never submitted my resignation,”
Mr. Tsiaras stated in a Facebook post, adding that the credibility of such rumors “reflects solely on their creators and those eager to spread them.”

Full statement by Kostas Tsiaras:

“I have never lost courage in the face of the major reforms our country needs, and of course, I have never submitted my resignation.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, our government is fighting a continuous battle — and we will continue with all our strength — for the modernization of the primary sector and the restoration of transparency in the payment system.

The credibility of these circulating rumors reflects solely on their originators and those willing to serve them.”
