An incredible story last month in Michigan in the US, when a woman won 100.000 dollars in the lottery with numbers suggested to her by ChatGPT.
More specifically, as the Michigan Lottery reports, it all started on September 6, when the jackpot of the “Powerball” lottery game had surpassed $1 billion, which prompted 45-year-old Tammy Carvey to buy a ticket.
However, instead of playing the numbers she came up with, she opted for a different solution. She decided to ask ChatGPT to tell her which numbers to choose. “I asked ChatGPT for a set of numbers for the Powerball, and these are the numbers I played on my lottery ticket,” Carvey said.
When she checked the winning numbers online, she realized she had won $50,000, but had actually won more.
“It wasn’t until I logged into my Michigan Lottery account that I realized I had added the Power Play ( something like a multiplier) to my lottery ticket and that I had actually won $100,000! My husband and I couldn’t believe it,” she said.
Carvey went to the Michigan Lottery headquarters to collect her prize, which she plans to use to pay off her house and then save what’s left.
The Michigan Lottery notes that “the results of all drawings are random and cannot be predicted using artificial intelligence or other number-generating tools.”
