US President Donald Trump today called on the Jews of New York City not to vote for Zohran Mamdani, the Democratic Party candidate for mayor of the city.

“Any Jew who votes for Zohran Mamdani (…) is an idiot!!!” the Republican president wrote in a post on the Truth Social platform, judging that the heavy favorite in this municipal election “hates Jews.”

Zohran Mamdani is a staunch supporter of the Palestinian cause, and his positions on Israel and the war in the Gaza Strip have provoked hostility from a portion of the Jewish community in the American metropolis. To reassure them, in recent months, he has not ceased to take a tough stance against anti-Semitism.
