According to the announcements, the federations demand, among other things, that the existing gaps in schools be filled, that permanent teachers are hired to cover all the needs of education, salary increases, as well as better planning of educational actions, so that they are not to the detriment of lesson timetables and curricula.

“We are taking to the streets because we cannot provide modern education in classrooms full of gaps and shortages. We teach in unsuitable and neglected school buildings, we watch our students being exhausted in private tutoring schools and living in insecurity. Many children don’t even have a bus to get to school, while the promises of ‘reforms’ turn out to be policies that bring more poverty and inequality,” OLME states.

“On November 6th our voice is heard – the voice of the teachers who experience inequalities and barriers to education every single day inside the classroom! The voice of the teachers who, on our own, are keeping the schools of this country standing,” DOE stresses.
