With the barometric low that has affected Greece in recent hours gradually moving away towards the southern maritime parts, the weather is showing a temporary improvement today and tomorrow. However, this change will not last long, as from Friday the country is expected to enter a period of successive bad weather that will occasionally deliver heavy and dangerous rainfall.
More specifically, a new barometric low that will form in the region of Italy is expected to move eastwards, affecting initially the western parts of the country from Friday night, and then the rest of the country over the weekend. The phenomena will be accompanied in places by thunderstorms, strong winds and possibly hail.
According to forecasters, an atmospheric “mountain” expected to rise towards northeastern Europe will block the eastward movement of the low, causing unsettled weather to persist over Greece for several days.
