Specifically, in its announcement OSE – Railways of Greece states categorically: “No train entered a wrong track. The specific report is false.”

And it continues: “We remind Hellenic Train and its parent company Ferrovie dello Stato that, as the company itself knows, based on the European framework and the General Traffic Regulation, in cases of controlled routing for a change of track or controlled backtracking, the personnel of the train is obliged to inform passengers in a timely manner and emphatically about the change of course.

The lack of information, as well as wrong information, as a passenger of the Thessaloniki suburban complaints, is unacceptable and damages the trust of the passenger public and society.”

“We note that the specific section of line in Sindos as well as 80% of the Athens – Thessaloniki axis has an installed and operational remote control system” the announcement states.
