Changes to the Red Line metro schedule from tomorrow (11/11) – Which stations will close earlier

Neos Kosmos, Agios Ioannis, and Dafni stations will close from 21:40 – A special bus line will serve passengers on the Syngrou Fix – Agios Dimitrios section – How long the changes will last

From Tuesday, 11 November, until Thursday, 12 December, temporary changes will be in effect on Metro Line 2 due to rail replacement works being carried out by STASY on the “Dafni – Neos Kosmos” section.

According to STASY, from Sunday to Thursday, the Neos Kosmos, Agios Ioannis, and Dafni stations will close at 21:40, that is, two and a half hours earlier than usual. This measure will only apply in the evening hours to allow the necessary technical works to be carried out safely.

During these hours, train operations will run normally only on the “Anthoupoli – Syngrou Fix” and “Agios Dimitrios – Elliniko” sections. To serve passengers on the intermediate section, i.e., between Syngrou Fix and Agios Dimitrios, a special bus line X13 “Fix – Agios Dimitrios” will operate.

The X13 bus line will be circular, stopping at the stations that remain closed, and will start from the “Syngrou Fix” station on Syngrou Avenue, next to the Museum of Contemporary Art.

The rail replacement is a major maintenance and network upgrade project with a budget of €7.3 million, and it is expected to be completed by the end of 2026. The project mainly concerns the older tunnels of Lines 2 and 3 (“Sepolia – Dafni” and “Monastiraki – Ethniki Amyna”) and is being implemented to maintain the high safety and reliability of the Metro.

In parallel with the rail replacement works, 5G infrastructure installation will also take place, so that two major projects can be completed simultaneously without further delays.

STASY asks for the public’s understanding regarding the temporary disruption, emphasizing that these interventions are necessary to improve daily travel on the Metro network.
