According to protothema.gr, it all happened when an unknown person called the authorities and reported that a burglary was in progress at a house in the area of Agios Dimitrios.

Police officers of the DIAS team rushed to the spot immediately. Upon arrival, they saw the perpetrators leaving the premises. In their sight the perpetrators quickly got into a vehicle and, in their attempt to escape, collided with two DIAS motorbikes, resulting in minor injuries to three policemen.

The officers then fired three shots into the vehicle’s tires, however the perpetrators managed to escape. A search ensued and, shortly afterwards, the vehicle was located in Daphne. The perpetrators, believed to be four Roma men, are being sought.
