With sunshine, cool morning temperatures and north winds, the week is rolling along, according to EMY and meteorologists Thodoris Kolydas and Klearchos Marousakis. From Saturday, the winds will shift to southerly, gradually raising the temperature, while a change in the weather is expected in the middle of next week due to a low barometric pressure from Italy.
The current week is characterized by particularly mild weather conditions, with sunshine in most of the country and limited clouds in the south, according to meteorologist Thodoris Kolydas. As he points out, the next period will be mild temperatures and a gradual strengthening of southerly winds, especially from the weekend.
The same picture is described by meteorologist Klearhos Marousakis, who attributes the mild weather to the “field of high barometric pressures over our country”. As he explains, “today and tomorrow we will see a few showers in areas facing the Aegean Sea, but after the weekend the weather will improve significantly.”
According to him, from Saturday to Tuesday the weather will be characterised by sunshine, mild winds and a wide daily temperature range – with low temperatures in the morning and noticeably higher at midday. Also, locally dense fog is expected mainly in the morning and evening hours, especially in continental areas.
In detail, Thursday and Friday will be generally clear days, with the possibility of a few light showers in the eastern parts of the Aegean Sea. At the weekend, a slight rise in temperature is expected, with prevailing southerly winds that will gradually strengthen, mainly in the seas.
From Monday, November 17, the weather will remain relatively good, with sparse clouds and sunshine, while from Tuesday onwards the forecasts indicate a change of scenery. “Towards the middle of next week, a barometric low from the region of Italy seems to bring an autumnal pattern to our country again,” Marousakis stresses.
At the same time, the global forecast system “Hercules” shows a significant cold invasion in Europe, with part of this polar air mass expected to reach Greece towards the third ten days of November. As the meteorologist clarifies, “it is still too early to draw safe conclusions, as the forecast horizon is unstable, but the indications persist.”
