A man known for domestic violence allegedly threatened people with a knife before stabbing himself and being subdued by police, the Paris prosecutor’s office said

A police operation is underway this afternoon at Paris’ Montparnasse train station, an eyewitness told Reuters.

“Based on the initial information we have gathered, it appears that a man known for domestic violence threatened people with a knife, and a police officer used his weapon to stop him,” the Paris prosecutor’s office stated, adding: “Afterward, the man is said to have stabbed himself.”
