Antigoni Buxton expressed her gratitude for being chosen to represent Cyprus in Eurovision 2026, emphasizing that the offer came at exactly the right time in her career.
The singer gave an interview to the TV show “Super Katerina,” which aired on Friday, November 28. Among other things, she described the moment she found out she had been selected to represent Cyprus at Eurovision:
“When I found out I would represent Cyprus, I was in London. Suddenly, someone from Minos EMI called and told me, and I was in shock. When you have a dream you want so much and it suddenly comes true, at first you’re in disbelief. I’m very happy and grateful, and I think the proposal came at the perfect moment.”
Regarding how she imagines her stage performance, she commented:
“I want it to be a full show — theatrical. It will definitely be dance-oriented and fun, but I’d also like to have moments where I can showcase my voice.”
Antigoni also spoke about the public’s support and the messages she has been receiving since the announcement of her Eurovision participation:
“I’m receiving lovely messages — most of them are really nice, and I’m very pleased. It is a great honor to represent my country. I’m anxious, but in a good way.”
