In nine regions of Greece — including Attica — the civil protection alert level has been raised to heightened readiness.

Tram Line 7 service restored
Tram operations have resumed across the entire Asklipieio Voulas – Agia Triada Piraeus line.

Residents trapped in homes in Nea Peramos
As reported by Kostas Stamou for protothema.gr, in Nea Peramos there are flooded homes and yards in the area around the cemetery. Inside, three people are trapped, including an elderly woman and a pregnant woman.

New meeting of the Risk Assessment Committee at 12:00
At 12:00, the Scientific Risk Assessment Committee will meet again to evaluate the data so far and the ongoing severe weather system.

The Fire Service remains on alert, while the Armed Forces and all security services, the Civil Protection mechanisms of the Regions, the Forest Service, DEDDIE, ADMIE, EKAV, and motorway concessionaires are also in heightened readiness. Relevant services of the Ministries of Health, Infrastructure and Transport, Environment and Energy, Labor and Social Security, Culture, and Rural Development and Food have also been placed on increased alert.

Consecutive 112 alerts across Greece
Since yesterday morning, multiple 112 alerts were sent to many regions of the country: East Mani, Evrotas, Pieria, Attica, Central Macedonia, Magnesia, Larissa, Sporades, Evia, Chios, Samos, Ikaria, Dodecanese, Crete, and the Cyclades. They warned of severe weather phenomena and urged residents to avoid unnecessary movement. After midnight, a message was also sent to the residents of Pylos, advising them to limit their travel to what is strictly necessary.

Mayor of Mandra: “The same roads that flooded in the 2017 tragedy have risen again”

Difficult night in Crete
During the night, the skies “opened,” with continuous rainfall, storms, and intense lightning activity. The passage of the severe weather system caused minor problems in Tsoutsouras and Steironas. In Tsoutsouras, strong winds and continuous rain led to fallen trees, while some homes were damaged, with winds removing corrugated roofing from houses. Mud and water accumulated, mobilizing the authorities. Crews were immediately dispatched to repair damage and clear the roads.

Travel extremely difficult on the flooded streets of Nea Peramos
Roads in Nea Peramos are filled with water.

Tram Line 7 operating only on Zephyros – Agia Triada Piraeus section
According to a STASY announcement, the Asklipieio Voulas – Loutra Alimou section is temporarily out of service due to water accumulation on the tramway between the old Town Hall and Glyfada beach, as well as issues with an EYDAP manhole at Agios Kosmas.
