Detailed Weather Analysis: Two Disturbances Expected to Affect the Country in the Coming Days
In the coming days, two disturbances are expected to impact most parts of the country, according to meteorologist Thodoros Kolydas. The first will appear from the afternoon of Saturday, December 20, continuing through Sunday, bringing rain mainly to the central and southern regions of Greece. The second disturbance is forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday and will affect western, central, northern Greece, and the eastern Aegean.
As Mr. Kolydas points out, the forecast for Christmas Day remains uncertain, with meteorological models still showing instability.

No rain is expected until Friday, but on the weekend and early next week, two disturbances will cause rainfall in various parts of the country.

In western Greece, there will be thin clouds, locally becoming denser at times. Further east, generally clear weather is expected with a few local clouds in eastern Thessaly, Evia, eastern Central Greece, and Crete. From noon onwards, clouds will thin out.
Visibility will be locally limited mainly on the mainland during the morning hours, with fog likely to form. Winds will blow from the southeast 3 to 5 Beaufort in the west, from the north 4 to 5 Beaufort in the east, and locally 6 Beaufort in the Aegean Sea.
Temperature will remain stable, reaching 14°C in the north, 16 to 18°C in most other regions, and locally 19°C in the Dodecanese. Frost will occur in places in the northern continental areas during the morning.
Macedonia and the Thrace Region
Thin clouds, becoming denser from midday. Winds variable 2 to 3 Beaufort, increasing to north winds 4 to 5 Beaufort in the afternoon in the east. Temperature ranges from 1 to 14°C, with 2 to 3 degrees lower in western Macedonia.
Ionian Islands, Epirus, Western Sterea, Western Peloponnese
Southeast winds 3 to 4 Beaufort. Temperatures from 4 to 17°C, locally up to 18°C. Inland Epirus will be 3 to 4 degrees cooler.
Thessaly, Eastern Sterea, Evia, Eastern Peloponnese
Generally clear with a few local clouds mainly in eastern Thessaly, Evia, and eastern Sterea. Winds from northern directions 3 to 4 Beaufort, increasing to 5 Beaufort in the east and south. Temperatures from 2 to 16°C, locally 17°C, with maximums 3 to 4 degrees lower in the north.
Crete and the Islands of the Eastern Aegean – Dodecanese
From midday, thin clouds. North winds 4 to 5 Beaufort, locally up to 6 Beaufort. Temperatures from 10 to 17°C, locally up to 19°C in the Dodecanese.
Attica
From midday, thin clouds. North winds 3 to 4 Beaufort, locally 5 Beaufort in the east. Temperatures from 5 to 17°C.
Thessaloniki
From midday, thin clouds. Winds are variable and light. Temperatures from 3 to 14°C.
Overall, Tuesday’s weather will be relatively mild with local fog and winds not exceeding 6 Beaufort. The two disturbances expected later in the week will bring more intense weather phenomena.
