Georgina Rodriguez commented on the marriage proposal and specifically on the $3 million solitaire ring she received from Cristiano Ronaldo, saying it was “the least he could do.”
The partner of the Portuguese footballer spoke to ELLE Spain about the proposal that took place in the summer, their nine-year relationship, and the possibility of having more children.
Ronaldo proposed to Rodriguez in August, after nine years together, offering her a 30-carat solitaire ring worth approximately $3 million. The model and entrepreneur, preparing to marry the Portuguese footballer, said about the ring: “It’s beautiful. It’s the least he could offer me after ten years of waiting,” adding with humor that at the moment of the proposal, the ring was not exactly what she had envisioned. “It took me some time to realize the size of the stone. I was so shocked that I left it in my room and didn’t see it in daylight until the next day,” she said.

The couple has been together since 2016 and has two daughters, seven-year-old Alana and two-year-old Bella. Bella’s twin brother, Ángel, died during birth. Additionally, Georgina Rodríguez helps raise Ronaldo’s three older children: 15-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., and the eight-year-old twins Eva and Mateo, born via surrogate.
Referring to the possibility of expanding their family, Rodríguez did not rule out having more children. Speaking about their relationship, she emphasized that from the very first moment, she felt a connection beyond physical attraction. She said: “I can’t say I predicted the future or knew that ten years later we would have five children, but I felt something inexplicable. It was as if our souls spoke before our eyes even met.”
Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez are preparing for their upcoming wedding, which is expected to take place in the summer of 2026 in Ronaldo’s hometown.
According to Portuguese media, the couple plans to marry at the historic Funchal Cathedral, a site of particular emotional significance for Ronaldo, who was born and raised in Madeira. The reception is reportedly planned for a luxury hotel on the island and will follow the conclusion of the 2026 World Cup.
The proposal took place in August 2025 during a private family moment that, according to Ronaldo himself, was unplanned. Georgina Rodríguez confirmed the engagement on social media, showing the solitaire ring and captioning her post: “Yes, I do. In this life and all my lives.”
