The Israel will spend 350 billion shekels (110 billion dollars) to develop an independent arms industry to reduce dependence on other countries, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said.

“We will continue to obtain the necessary supplies while we arm ourselves independently,” Netanyahu said, speaking at a young pilots’ event.

“I don’t know if a country can become fully independent but we will try to ensure that our weapons are produced as much as possible in Israel, he said.

“Our goal is to create an independent arms industry for the state of Israel and to reduce dependence on anyone, including allies.”
