The last public holiday of the festive period, Epiphany, keeps supermarkets and shops closed today. Today essentially marks the end of the holidays and constitutes the final “break” before the return to normality for businesses and consumers.
With Epiphany, the cycle of the Christmas and New Year holidays is completed, which was characterized by festive opening hours, increased traffic and successive public holidays. From tomorrow, the market gradually returns to its usual pace, with full operation of shops and shopping centers.
Today, no large supermarket is open. All major chains remain closed without exceptions or special opening hours.
The same situation applies to shopping centers. The Mall Athens, Metro Mall, Smart Park, McArthurGlen Designer Outlet and Golden Hall are not operating today, as they are observing the mandatory public holiday.
Only bakeries, pastry shops, mini markets and kiosks may be open, operating under their own hours.
From Wednesday, January 7, markets, retail stores and malls open normally, marking the end of the festive period and the return to everyday life.
