New decisions are expected tomorrow, as farmers plan to determine their next steps. Specifically, at 11 a.m., a meeting is scheduled in Malgara to set the exact time when farmers will reopen the National Road. Then, at noon, farmers in Halkidiki will withdraw their tractors and allow traffic on the Thessaloniki-Moudania National Road at the Triglia junction.

At Evzoni, although the customs station remains open, farmers have decided to impose a six-hour blockade from 6:00 p.m. to midnight, preventing all vehicles from passing.

The customs station at Promachonas remains closed to trucks, and a new meeting will take place at noon to decide whether it will reopen or continue the blockade.

Farmers remain in the Tempi tunnels

Meanwhile, Thessalian farmers remain in the Tempi tunnels, having spent the entire night on-site, continuing their blockade and protest actions.

Tractors and agricultural machinery remain lined up in the tunnel, with participation from the Nikaia blockade, as part of the escalation of their demonstrations.

At the Nikaia junction on the Athens-Thessaloniki National Road, the agricultural blockade remains in effect, with farmers maintaining constant communication with other blockades across the country as part of nationwide coordination, ahead of a national meeting scheduled for the weekend.

It is worth noting that, according to the Larissa Police Department, traffic for all vehicles, including cars, trucks, and buses, has been blocked in both directions on the section from the Platykampos interchange to the Platamonas interchange, as well as on the old Evangelismos-Leptokarya national road. Vehicles are being diverted via alternative routes, following the instructions of the Traffic Police.

Ioannina-Kakavia National Road reopening

At the same time, farmers and livestock breeders in Ioannina are preparing to reopen the Ioannina-Kakavia National Road, which was closed yesterday afternoon with tractors, agricultural vehicles, and hay bales.

Tractors from the Kalpaki blockade moved yesterday to the Kakavia Customs Station and closed the road at Parakalamos. Following the Prime Minister’s invitation to dialogue, the tractors are expected to return to Kalpaki by noon and reopen the Ioannina-Kakavia National Road, while remaining stationed in Kalpaki.

In Igoumenitsa, farmers, livestock breeders, and beekeepers closed both lanes of the Egnatia Odos highway yesterday afternoon before the port entrance. They appear determined to maintain the 48-hour closure and reopen tomorrow morning without removing their tractors.

In Arta and Preveza, tractors remain lined up at the Ionian Road interchanges and at Louros.

Blockade continues at Mourgani for heavy vehicles

At the Loggos toll station on the E65, farmers from Trikala remain in place, having blocked the Mourgani bridge junction connecting Trikala with Epirus and Grevena. Heavy vehicles are not allowed to pass, while cars and buses can continue. Tractors have moved to the sides of the roads to ensure smooth traffic flow.

De-escalation in Central Greece

Farmers in Central Greece are now beginning to ease roadblocks following decisions made at their general assemblies, in preparation for their meeting with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Tuesday at the Maximos Mansion. Blockades participating in the National Coordinating Committee are also planning a new meeting in Nikaia to determine the composition of the delegation and the framework for discussions with the government.

However, farmer representatives emphasize that the protests are not ending. Tractors will remain at the blockades, and the situation will be reassessed after the Prime Minister’s meeting to make final decisions based on the results.

At the Bralos junction near Lamia, where the blockade was reinforced with farmers from Atalanti and Domokos and tractors from the Karditsa blockade on the E65, farmers decided late last night at their general assembly to withdraw tractors from full 24-hour blockade points one day earlier than initially announced. Therefore, after noon today, secondary roads and provincial access points are expected to reopen, while tractors will remain in their pre-escalation positions.

Farmers stress that this is a gesture of goodwill following the Prime Minister’s invitation.

Although no official announcement has been made regarding the exact time of lifting the blockades, it is expected that this afternoon farmers will leave Atalanti and Domokos, and tractors from Karditsa will return to the E65. Shortly after, secondary roads will reopen for vehicle passage. Farmer representatives clarify, however, that they will remain at the blockades until the Tuesday meeting and that this stance will be reflected in the upcoming nationwide meeting of blockades in Nikaia.

In Euboea, last night the general assembly of the blockade decided that the High Bridge in Chalkida, which had been blocked, will reopen today at 10:00 a.m., 24 hours earlier than initially planned. Farmers state that this is a gesture of goodwill ahead of the dialogue with the Prime Minister.

The final decisions of farmers at Kastro Voias are expected today, where discussions continued late into last night. The withdrawal of tractors from full blockades and their return to pre-escalation positions remains possible, but not expected before noon. At Kastro, a 96-hour blockade of the road and side roads had been decided, with daily reassessment, while tractors will remain in place until the next evaluation.

Finally, in Thebes, where tensions between farmers and police were limited to verbal confrontations yesterday, farmers are expected to announce their intentions today. Yesterday evening, in addition to the blockade at the Thebes junction, they occasionally closed the old Lamia-Athens national road near Kanavari, Thebes.
