Marasleio students presented innovative business ideas to Sophia Zacharaki

Creativity and innovation with digital books, natural energy and safety bracelets

Newsroom January 13 02:11

During her visit to the 26th Athens Experimental Lyceum – Maraslio, the Minister of Education, Sofia Zacharaki, had the opportunity to get to know the school’s Entrepreneurship Group and the innovative ideas of the students. The children presented three business proposals with a strong social, educational, and environmental character.

Of particular interest was the idea of using digital technology via a tablet to collect textbooks and notes in digital format, reducing the weight of school bags and enhancing environmental awareness. At the same time, the students proposed a healthy alternative energy source for young people through capsules compatible with coffee machines, providing a natural and nutritious boost instead of the usual energy drinks. The innovative proposal to support children with disabilities also stood out, with the creation of a bracelet that reproduces the voice of familiar faces in moments of tension, enhancing the feeling of security and calm.

As Ms. Zacharaki stressed, such initiatives demonstrate in practice that schools can cultivate skills of enduring value, such as creativity, cooperation, and responsibility. She expressed the Ministry’s clear intention to strengthen and expand the operation of the Groups to other schools, recognizing their potential in the modern educational reality.

The post by Education Minister Sofia Zacharaki

“Today I had the pleasure of meeting the students of the 26th Athens Experimental Lyceum – Marasleio and getting to know the Entrepreneurship Group of their school.

With enthusiasm, creativity, and spirit of cooperation, they presented three business ideas with a social, educational, and environmental footprint.

They demonstrated how digital technology, via a tablet, can digitally collect textbooks and notes, reducing the weight of school bags and enhancing environmental awareness.

They introduced a healthy alternative for youth energy through a capsule compatible with coffee machines, providing natural and nutritious energy instead of the usual energy drinks.

They demonstrated an innovative proposal to support children with disabilities, with a bracelet that, in times of tension, reproduces the voice of their own people, helping them to calm down and feel safe.

Ideas that show in practice how schools can cultivate skills with meaningful and enduring value: creativity, collaboration, and responsibility.

Congratulations to the students and their teachers for consistently and faithfully supporting such initiatives.

I strongly believe in the dynamics of the clubs, and we have been working for some time on a proposal to expand them to other schools as well.”
