Emma Stone explains why she doesn’t have Instagram: “I am protective of my mental health”

In an interview, actress, Emma Stone explains why she's off Instagram

Newsroom February 5 03:01

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Emma Stone revealed why she avoids Instagram and social media in general, citing concerns for her mental health. The actress, known for her role in Bugonia, discussed her relationship with the internet, prompted by a Super Bowl ad she filmed with director Yorgos Lanthimos for Squarespace, set to air on February 8, 2026.

In the ad, Stone attempts to secure a domain with her real name and create her own website—something she has actually done in real life. When asked if she would ever consider turning it into a lifestyle blog, she was clear: “One hundred percent no. That’s why I don’t even have Instagram.”

She explained, “I’m too afraid for my mental health to be that active. That’s why I’m more of a ‘lurker’ and enjoy watching what others do.”
