Significant inflow of large volumes of water into the Arda and Evros rivers is expected within the next few hours. The municipality of Orestiada is urging residents to be vigilant.

To avoid accidents and to protect the property of citizens, the municipal Authority recommends:

– That livestock farmers be on standby for possible removal of their livestock from riparian areas if necessary.

– farmers to remove farm machinery, pumping units, and other equipment from high-risk areas.

– citizens to avoid any kind of movement, work, or activity (hunting, fishing, walking) near the levees and river valleys.
