A rally for the 3 years since the Tempi tragedy is being held today at 12:00 noon at the Propylaea by more than 20 student associations of Athens.
As announced by STASY, the Metro station “University” will be closed from 10 am and trains will pass through it without stopping.
The student associations that have so far decided to take part in the Attica rally are: Philosophy, Teachers, Kindergarten teachers, Dentistry, Sociology, Mathematics, Geology, Mathematical Geology, IFE EKPA, ASOEE, Informatics, Physics, Engineering, Health and Welfare Sciences, Food Sciences, Applied Arts and Culture PADA, Higher School of Fine Arts, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgists, the Student Association of Surveyors of NTUA and the Student Association of Russian Language and Literature and Slavic Studies, as well as the associations of the hosts of the New Student Homes of NTUA, the Student Residence of the University of Athens and the Student Residence of Athens.
In a statement, the Students’ Struggle Front (MAS) said: “Now is the time for all of us to strengthen the struggle to overturn the bloody rails of profit that clash with our rights and lives. To take the ‘knife of responsibility to the bone’ and punish all those criminally and politically responsible for the crime in Tempe, no matter how high up they are. So that the relatives of the victims can also find justice. So that we can have modern, exclusively public and safe transport. For health and safety at work. To overturn the anti-labour legislative framework, the exhausting 13-hour days. For pay rises and support measures to combat inactivity.”
