Everyone voted for…Kim: Election victory with 99.93% and a “party” on social media over the 0.07% in North Korea who didn’t vote for him

Ballots were held for the Supreme People’s Assembly in North Korea, with the results, as expected, predetermined - “Find the 0.07% who didn’t vote for him,” users comment sarcastically on social media

With a percentage approaching totality, North Korea’s regime announced yet another electoral “victory,” with Kim Jong Un’s ruling party securing…99.93% of the vote in the elections for the Supreme People’s Assembly (SPA).

According to official figures reported by the state news agency KCNA, turnout reached an “impressive” 99.99%, with citizens essentially being asked to approve or reject a single candidate per district, nominated by the Workers’ Party.

A total of 687 deputies were elected in a process that is internationally described as formal and lacking real political competition.

Kim Jong Un himself did not run as a candidate, however it is considered certain that he will be reappointed as President of the State Affairs Commission, a position he has held since 2016, further strengthening his control over the country.

The North Korean leader was seen voting at a coal mine in the Chongsong area, from where he also delivered a brief message, reiterating his commitment to a “less backward” country.

His sister’s role is strengthened
Particular importance is attached to the strengthening of the position of the leader’s sister, Kim Yo-jong, who was promoted to a higher role in the party’s Central Committee.

Analysts estimate that the 38-year-old is considered a key candidate for succession, at least on an interim basis, until Kim’s daughter, Kim Ju-ae, is ready to assume power.

“Party” on X over the election result
A few hours after the announcement of the election result, comments with a strongly ironic tone flooded social media, especially the platform “X.”

Many users focused on the 0.07% who reportedly did not support the regime, posting the phrase “Find the 0.07%,” turning this detail into a viral topic of discussion.

Well the 0.07% better find a safe place to hide.
