Passenger traffic at the ports of Attica is expected to be increased on Holy Saturday, April 11, 2026, as thousands of travelers leave the capital for the islands to celebrate Easter.
According to available data, a total of 51 routes will be carried out from Piraeus, Rafina and Lavrio, transporting approximately 5,829 passengers.
Specifically, from the port of Piraeus and the Gate of Tzelepi, 5 routes will take place with 2,366 passengers, while traffic will also be increased in the Saronic Gulf, where a total of 32 departures will be recorded.


Of these, 18 routes of conventional passenger/vehicle ferries will carry approximately 550 passengers, while 14 hydrofoil routes will serve 1,262 passengers.
From the port of Rafina, 7 routes to the Cyclades will be carried out with 1,351 passengers, as well as 3 additional routes to Marmari.
Finally, from the port of Lavrio, 4 routes will be operated, with passenger traffic estimated at around 300 people.
Traffic on the roads has normalized
Traffic on the morning of Good Friday was particularly heavy at ports and on the roads.
Delays were recorded on the Athens–Corinth National Highway from Elefsina to Megara, queues of cars formed at the Elefsina tolls, while vehicles also moved at slow speeds on the Attiki Odos before Magoula in the direction of Elefsina.
From 6 a.m. on Holy Thursday until today at 6 a.m., 70,277 vehicles passed through the Elefsina tolls on the Athens–Corinth highway and 50,722 vehicles through the Afidnes tolls on the Athens–Lamia highway.

Passenger traffic at intercity bus (KTEL) stations was also particularly high, with buses departing full.
Slightly increased traffic was also recorded at the Malgara tolls in the Thessaloniki region, with the exodus proceeding smoothly.
On Holy Thursday, 37,000 vehicles passed through the Malgara tolls (18,000 inbound and 19,700 outbound).
As for the ports, the Hellenic Coast Guard is on alert, taking all necessary measures to facilitate passengers and ensure the smooth operation of routes.
According to the Hellenic Coast Guard, 16 ship departures have been scheduled today from the port of Piraeus and Gate Tzelepi, with estimated passenger traffic reaching 12,338 departures based on pre-booking data. A total of 38 ship departures to the Saronic Gulf islands will take place, 23 with conventional ferries and 15 with hydrofoils.
From the port of Rafina, 10 routes to the Cyclades will be carried out, with approximately 5,690 passengers departing for island destinations, while an additional four routes to Marmari are also scheduled. At the same time, nine departures are scheduled from the port of Lavrio, with passenger traffic estimated at around 2,200 people based on pre-booking data.
This picture follows the intense movement recorded on Holy Thursday, when the Easter exodus peaked.
Specifically, 20 ship departures took place from Piraeus, with 22,551 passengers leaving the capital, while 23 routes to the Saronic Gulf islands were carried out, 14 of them with hydrofoils, transporting 9,793 travelers.
Similarly, from Rafina there were 11 departures with 9,228 passengers, including four routes to Marmari, while from Lavrio nine routes were carried out with a total of 2,587 passenger departures.
