UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that he will not yield to pressure for the country to participate in a war with Iran, emphasizing that the conflict does not serve the nation’s interests.

His remarks were made in the House of Commons, just hours after an interview by Donald Trump, who said that the terms of the US–UK trade agreement signed last year could be revised.

Responding to questions from MPs, Starmer noted that he has faced significant pressure to pursue a different policy course, adding that developments in recent hours have intensified that pressure.

“I will not change my mind. I will not give in. It is not in our national interest to take part in this war, and we will not do so. I know my position,” he said characteristically.

The British prime minister reiterated that the government remains committed to a policy of non-involvement, stressing that this conflict is not Britain’s war.
