A 13-year-old student is being treated in the Intensive Care Unit of the Children’s Hospital “Agia Sophia” after losing her balance and falling from a school balcony into the schoolyard in Haidari, sustaining serious injuries.
According to reports, at around 11:00 at the 7th Gymnasium of Haidari, the student, who is in the first year of lower secondary school, fell from a first-floor balcony at the school.
An EKAV ambulance station was called by the school principal and transported the minor alive to Attikon Hospital, which was the closest hospital, where she was intubated. She was then transferred to the Children’s Hospital “Agia Sophia”. The EKAV mobile medical unit arrived at the school within four minutes to transport the injured girl.
According to student testimonies, the 13-year-old was sitting on the railing of the balcony fence, made a forward-backward rocking movement, and fell into the void.
